About

An intimate evening exploring kokedama — a more intuitive, seasonal approach to floral arrangement. We move slowly, guided by the materials in front of us, and you'll leave with a piece you can take home and replant.

All materials are seasonal and sourced with care. No prior experience is needed — only curiosity.

What to expect

  • 01An introduction to kokedama: its origins, philosophy, and how it differs from more structured arranging traditions
  • 02Hands-on guidance from Valery through the entire process: from selecting your seasonal materials to building and shaping your own composition
  • 03You will work with moss and plants
  • 04An exploration of vessel and material: how unexpected objects become part of the arrangement
  • 05A meditative pace — this is a workshop for slowing down and being present
  • 06The workshop is taught in English
  • 07Tea and sake
  • 08Your finished piece to bring home (that you can replant!)
  • 09Final design will be revealed during the workshop
